As we mentioned above there are two types of startup folders on one computer, one is the system startup folder that affect all users sharing the same computer, the other type is user based startup folder, each user can customize it for himself or herself. To automatically start certain app on your PC, you need to add the shortcut of the app to Windows Startup folder. This will open the StartUp folder for the current logged on user. Alternatively you can also press Windows R key combination to open the Run dialogue and type shell:startup in the Open box, then hit Enter. The user specific Startup folder can be found from C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (replace username with your actual user account name). The Windows system Startup folder for all users can be accessed from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp in the File Explorer. The Windows system has different Startup folders for different users sharing the same computer. If you have any favorite app that you use daily, you can follow these steps to run them automatically. Frequently used apps can be set to startup automatically with the Windows system.
